Best Pie Ever

 
This very unusual pie is delicious, and will arouse curiosity because it is like nothing else.
 

Ingredients

 
20cm unbaked pastry shell
2 eggs separated
1 cup, 250 ml sugar
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ cup, 125 ml nuts
½ cup, 125 ml raisins or sultanas
1 tablespoon melted butter
1 tablespoon vinegar.
 

Method

 
Preheat the oven to 230 degrees C, (450 deg F)
 
Beat the egg yolks until they are light and thick. Add sugar, cloves and cinnamon, mix well, add the nuts, raisins and butter. Beat the egg whites until they are stiff, but not dry. Fold them gently into the mixture, adding the vinegar slowly. Pour the mixture into the pastry shell.
Bake at 230 deg for 10 mins, then reduce the heat to 180 deg C, (350 deg F) and bake for 25 minutes.
 
Cool, and serve with nice plain yogurt, or cream. It is good hot or cold.
