Dishwasher powder
Dishwasher
powder got changed into cubes, with a fivefold increase in
price.
We resented that. With a
little bit of research, we have developed a successful formula, by
weight of:
- 40% sodium
hydrogen carbonate (commonly known a bicarbonate of
soda)
- 40% Borax. this
is sold in Coles in the cleaning area, but is hard to find.
- 10% salt. Just
common salt.
- 10% Citric acid.
This can be bought in supermarkets but a quick web search will
find massive variations in price. We bought 2 kg from an
industrial spice supplier(!) in Sydney, and that will last us
for a very long time.
Just mix it up, keep in a watertight container like a Napisan
plastic jar, and use normally.
