Tiffwat recipes: favourite recipes for travelling

Main course dishes

Baked Rats' tails, (oven roasted ratatouille). This method of cooking vegetables maintains their original flavours, enhanced with herbs: crisp on the outside, hot and bursting with juicy flavour as you bite.

Borscht. A flavoursome soup, coloured dark maroon. An exotic looking starter or main course.

Courgette (Zucchini) fetta filo pie. A vegetarian, tasty meal. An excellent way to manage an overload of courgettes when in season.

Fettucine with tuna sauce. The main thing here is the sauce. Tasty, and makes pasta into a meal by itself.

Impossible pie. A quick and easy egg and bacon pie without any pastry needed.

Pasta. Pasta that is made from its original ingredients will need a litle more preparation, but gives something for everyone to do in the lead-up to a meal. Both kids and adults enjoy it, and it gives everyone lots of potential to get creative with their sauces.

Pasta pestos. Two pesto sauces based on fresh herbs, to make a plain pasta meal into something out of the ordinary.

Sausage rolls. Basic, ordinary, yummy and versatile.  Nothing too special, but always appreciated!

Moong dal. this is an unusual, very nice Indian dish.

Lentil Chilli  This is a vegetarian equivalent to Chilli con Carne, chilli without the beef.
